چکیده
In Australia, crown rot of cereals is predominantly caused by Fusarium pseudograminearum and culmorum, common root Bipolaris sorokiniana. graminearum an important pathogen causing head blight worldwide has also been reported to cause wheat. The comparative ability F. pseudograminearum, B. sorokiniana across a range winter cereal species requires investigation. glasshouse trials, we inoculated one cultivar each barley, bread wheat, durum oat triticale with two strains the four pathogens. At 21 days after inoculation, sub-crown internode leaf sheaths plant were visually rated for brown discoloration. Shoot length dry weight plants compared those non-inoculated controls. Barley wheat had highest disease severity ratings on (64.7–99.6%), whereas lowest all pathogens (<5%). shoot cultivars was significantly reduced (by 12.2–55%, P < 0.05) when exposed pseudograminearum. This study provides comparison pathogenicity demonstrates significant variation in visual discoloration host response cereals.

The effect of different compost-soil ratios on the incidence of Pythium aphanidermatum causing tomato damping off was tested in a greenhouse experiment. The inoculum density of 5% was determined to be suitable for inoculation in compost experiments based on investigations of disease incidence with 5, 10 and 20% inoculum densities. To evaluate the effect of compost on incidence of tomato damping...

Combining effects of soil solarization and grafting on soilborne pathogens, plant height and yield in cucumber were compared in a greenhouse of Bati Akdeniz Agricultural Research Institute located in Antalya in 2008 fall season. The experiment was set in split plot design containing; 1, 2, 4 and 5 months soil solarization (MSS), and non-solarized control plots (NSC) on which grafted Maximus F1+...

*Globally, exotic invaders threaten biodiversity and ecosystem function. Studies often report that invading plants are less affected by enemies in their invaded vs home ranges, but few studies have investigated the underlying mechanisms. *Here, we investigated the variation in prevalence, species composition and virulence of soil-borne Pythium pathogens associated with the tree Prunus serotina ...
متن کاملWinter vomiting disease caused by calicivirus.
The clinical, epidemiological, and virological features of an outbreak of winter vomiting disease among London schoolchildren are described. Evidence is presented to support the view that this epidemic was caused by a human calicivirus, a virus not previously shown to be associated with this disease in man.

Cold-hardened dark-grown seedlings of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and winter rye (Secale cereale L.) are killed during total encasement in ice at -1 C at a rate related to the initial cold hardiness of the cultivars. Few plants remain alive after 7 days of encasement. Nonhardened seedlings are rapidly killed in ice. The respiratory properties of mitochondria isolated from plants after i...
